Prevention of falls from height

Working at height is a high-risk activity. Falls from height are the second leading cause of fatal accidents at work. (source: INRS)

Accidents are often caused by a lack of training, incorrect use of equipment or a lack of attention on the part of operators. This e-learning module reminds learners of the risks involved in working at height and prepares them to recognise and use the appropriate protective equipment. As a result, they will be able to apply the necessary and essential safety rules when working at height.

Audience

This module is aimed at staff who work at height on an occasional or regular basis, whatever the equipment used: ladders, scaffolding, MEWPs, roof situations.

Objectives of the training

On completion of the ‘Prevention of falls from height’ course, learners will be able to:

  • understand the risks associated with working at height;
  • understand the prioritisation of prevention and protection measures;
  • know the main equipment for working at height;
  • acquire the reflexes to organise tasks safely and choose the appropriate materials.

The roofing work situations

The module includes numerous exercises and filmed scenarios. It is supplemented by a downloadable summary document. The learner can consult this document whenever necessary.

At the end of the course, the learner is assessed. An analysis of the results obtained enables appropriate corrective measures to be taken where necessary. A knowledge positioning test – offered before the course – can also supplement this module.
